Nothing like a Good BLTT

That is Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Turkey. Or a Club sandwich. We just happen to have some turkey laying around for some reason. So.. Its Club Sandwich Time, or BLTT.

My daughter was very proud of her quadruple layer Club sandwich she made over the weekend. It reminded me of the Club sandwich we used to make a long time ago at a place called Gutherie’s Digs. It was made with a very large fresh baked roll. It had the usual , bacon, lettuce, tomato and turkey. But it also had Havarti cheese and was served broiled.

BLTT or Club Sandwich

It was one of the best sandwiches U have ever had so I thought I would whip one up. Here is what you will need:

4 Large Fresh Rolls
1 lb Cooked Bacon
3 to 4 oz Turkey Breast per Sandwich
8 Large Pieces of  Iceberg Lettuce (nothing else will do, I mean it!)
8 Slices of Ripe Large Tomato
4 to 8 Slices Colby Jack cheese, didn’t have any Havarti laying around.
Real Mayonnaise

We will start by cooking the bacon, if you haven’t done this already.

Hmmm... Bacon

Carefully slice your roll and slather a load of mayonnaise on the bottom. If you accidently get some Miracle Whip on it just throw it in the trash and start over with REAL MAYONNAISE!

Then the Iceberg lettuce, tomato slice and then a little salt. Next place the turkey breast on, then the bacon and finally the cheese.

Place in you toaster oven on high broil, or the highest bake setting, until the cheese melted and bubbly.

Top with the other half of the bun and cut the Club sandwich in half. It’s a lot easier to eat this way. Serve with some baby gerkins and potao chips.

Hmmm…. Bacon and Turkey Goodness!
