Crockpot Kalua Pork

Prep Time: 5 min.
Cook Time: 10 – 12 hours
Serves: 6 – 8

I got this recipe from Khara, one of the girls I work with. She is from Hawaii. She served this at a Luau type pot-luck we had at work. Everybody there just loved it. Unfortunately I was just getting over the flu so the smell of it was too much for me.

4 to 5 pounds pork butt or shoulder
2 cups apple cider
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
2-3 tablespoons Hawaiian salt (coarse sea salt will work)

The night before, rub pork with Hawaiian salt, liquid smoke and place in Crockpot. Add apple cider. Turn crockpot on low and leave it to cook for 10-12 hours, flipping pork over halfway through. Take meat out of crockpot and shred with two forks. Enjoy!

If you try this let me know what you think. Like I said above I was too sick to try it but everyone else just loved it.

Thanks to Khara for the great recipe!.
